HILARY C. BANKER, a Past President, is a partner in the law firm of Burgio, Kita and Curvin.  Her practice focuses primarily in the areas of personal injury and insurance defense.   An experienced litigator, she has taken 20 cases to verdict and has participated in numerous arbitrations as both a litigant and arbitrator.  Graduating cum laude from the University at Buffalo Law School, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Geneseo.  

Banker is currently a Director of the Defense Trial Lawyers Association and the University at Buffalo Law Alumni Association, and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County and the American Inns of Court, Desmond Chapter. This is her sixth year as an officer or director of the Women’s Bar Association. In past years she has served as local director, state director, secretary, president-elect and president.  She lives in Buffalo with her husband, Jeff Leichtnam, their brand new baby William, and their dog, Buster.
