The Western New York Chapter of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York
Elisha J. Burkart, local director, is an Associate with Kavinoky Cook LLP where her practice focuses on the representation of municipalities, corporations, and individuals in federal and state court and administrative tribunals in the areas of business and commercial litigation, labor and employment law, and all areas of general litigation. Ms. Burkart received her law degree with a concentration in labor and employment law in 2005 from the University at Buffalo School of Law. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2002 from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University where she focused her studies on labor and employment law and human resource management. Ms. Burkart resides in North Buffalo. She is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York and is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Erie County Bar Association. Ms. Burkart also is also actively involved in public service through Lawyers for Learning and the American Association of Academic Women. This is her first year as a local director for the Western New York Chapter.
