MELISSA A. FOTI, State Director, is an associate with Kenney Shelton Liptak Nowak LLP, where she focuses on insurance defense litigation, including motor vehicle negligence, premises liability and labor law. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies in May 1996 from the State University at Buffalo. Foti enrolled in law school at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. While at John Marshall she studied abroad in Parma and Rome, Italy. She subsequently transferred back to the Western New York area and obtained her Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo in May 2003. Foti is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Erie County. Foti has volunteered for the Volunteer Lawyers Project. She has also volunteered as an attorney advisor for the High School Mock Trial Tournament. Foti will be serving her second year as co-chair for The Young Lawyers Committee of the Erie County Bar Association. This is her first year as a State director for the Western New York Chapter.
