JOY C. TROTTER, Past Chapter President, is Executive Director for Human Resources at the Buffalo Board of Education. She previously served as Counsel to the Board as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of Buffalo. She is a 1988 graduate of New York University, College of Arts and Sciences, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Russian Language, and received her J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School in 1994, where she was Assistant Executive Editor of the Buffalo Law Review. In addition to serving as Chapter President, Ms. Trotter has also served as State Delegate, chaired the Chapter’s Mentoring Program and served as U.B. Law Liaison. On the WBASNY State level, she co-chaired the Newsletter Committee in 2003-2004. She was named by WBASNY as the "Doris S. Hoffman Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year" for 1998. Ms. Trotter is active in a number of civic and professional organizations. She has served as President and Board Member for the Western New York Law Center. She has served as Secretary and Vice President of the Nichols School Alumni Board, and as a member of the Steering Committee of The New Group at the Gallery, where she served as the Chair of the group's June event "Art Alive!" Prior to law school, she was employed at the White House as a Correspondence Analyst under the administration of President George Herbert Walker Bush.
